Death Comes In 3's - Dave Amazin

What's up? It's the original black nerd aka the first black man to recieve the Galaxy S4 (not to date) aka the Blacker Hacker aka Bill Nye's 2nd cousin, but you mig ide Chicago emcee, Dave Amazin. The name already has me intrigued. How could I not listen? It starts out with a great acapella "Disclaimer." It sounds a bit like a suicide note to me. From the intro alone, it sounds like Dave Amazin is a dead guy and this was his last mixtape and this is interesting. It's a  mysterious person that I want to know about now. Then, his music starts. Dave Amazin has some pretty great lyrics. Some really reach the pith of my mindset and thinking. This mixtape has somewhat the wrecklessness of a person who knows they're about to die (but not a suicidal one!), but still can transfer to introspective. The few original beats on hear are amazing. Dave Amazin is a very intriguing intellect. The downside of this mixtape is some of the quality/mixing. His flow needs to get a bit more steady sometimes. The cartoon and movie samples make me really happy. Overall, this tape is good and I see potential in this kid..

Nellz GC - Cornell University [Mixtape Review]

Aye mane, It's Bill Nye's 2nd Cousin, aka Big Ghost's prodigy, aka the real Carlton Banks. A while ago (and I mean a WHILE ago), Baltimore rapper, Nellz GC sent me in his later mixtape, "Cornell University." I slept on this for about a month, then listened, and got to writing this up about a month later. Well lets see what I think about this guy..

Intro [Prod. by LA Beatz] - This track is all around beautiful. Already, I'm mad at myself for sleeping on this dude for so long. Nellz really introduces himself to us here with this track. He tells us that his father got 15 years, his older brother in jail, and his oldest died.
4.7/5

7PM in Baltimore - This song continues a very hardworking vibe. "I figure they want features from a nigga since they seen that Bossman was in my pictures" How'd you get a pic with Travon Davis though? I want to see that!
"I hope I make Biggie proud."
4/5

You A Lie (ft. Rockie Fresh) - Here's a remix of Rockie Fresh's new hit. This joint actually sounds like something a Baltimore artist would do. lol nawm saying? It's just that beat. Nellz did his thing. Only line that really stood out to me was "Live by my rep, you got twitter clout." That line alone describes a good portion of the "popular" people in Baltimore. It's funny actually. I skipped the track after a while because it got boring.
3/5

Cloud 9 (Ride To It) [Prod. by Soul] - I like this chill track. Of course the main idea of the song is about getting high, but he talks about a lot of Baltimore stuff that I'm familiar with myself. This may sound like lunacy, but this track got me a bit nostalgiac. I fucks with it.
"I'm from Baltimore. Keeping the dream alive. Home of the 4 pc. chicken and fries."
4.3/5

N-Credible (ft. BlitzTheTundra) [Prod. by BlitzTheTundra] - This whole track is just.. all over the place. I don't mean that in a bad way or a good way. I honestly don't know what to say about it. I mean, production is ill, but it's just everywhere.
3.4/5

Room 323 (BYOB) [Prod. by Soul] - This song aiiiiight. The beat is on some trill, Kendrick Lamar shit. At times, I hear his flow got a little Kendrickish too. The sample at the end is ill.
2.5/5

The Vent - A remix of "The Calm" by Drake. It goes hard. Again, not much to say. Nellz is just venting. It's all proof of how stress relieving writing really can be (stay in english class, kids!)
3.9/5

The Ride - Another Drake remix, but except this time, for Drake and The Weeknd's popular track "The Ride." It sounds like another venting track. I like this one. I actually start to feel like I can relate to Nellz. He raps about his identity problems, bitter troubles with women, and the typical comeup. He got that Black American Teen Dream.
4.7/5

Golden Child (ft. Cash Haz) - This is a hard track. The mixing annoys me. There goes that Baltimore nigga acapella part lol.
2/5

Soul Searcher [Prod. by All Star] - At this point of the mixtape, I'm finding myself bored of the same flow and lyric topics, but the track is still okay. The beat is hot. At the end, it's a great way to end the track.

Most of this mixtape sounds like it's written by a Baltimore nigga. Like this is a Baltimore rapper mixtape, if you nawm saying? A lot of typical shit is said, and the wordplay definitely needs to be worked on, but besides all of that it's a really good tape. Unlike many Baltimore rappers, Nellz realizes what it means to be introspective. It's somewhat beautiful, but can grow boring. He's one of the rappers where beat choice means a lot. Nellz claims himself as the "Golden Child" in the family. I'm rooting for him after this mixtape. Overall it's okay. Well not okay, above okay. I fucks with it.
